Franco Delpiano
Born on March 30 ͭͪ 1930, in the Italian region of Piemonte, Priest
Franco Delpiano followed since 1969 the Operation Mato Grosso. In 1970
he came to São Julião Hospital, in Campo Grande, where he infused his
service creating the Association of Assistance and Recuperation of Leprous.
He went back to Italy, from where came the news that he was very ill.
Priest Franco came to Brasil in 1972 to say goodbye to his friends and
patients at the Hospital. He died on May 29 ͭͪ on
the same year. |

Mato Grosso Operation is a designation of solidarity and work initiated
by Italian volunteers, today linked to the Association OASI from
Turim.
The social awareness before the hard reality
in several countries motivated constant trips of youngsters to Brazil.
In Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, the work started in1969 still in
the old leprosarium. |
